Martha Bloomfield, Author, Stories of Immigrants
In an effort to dissipate prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination, and foster dialogue, civic engagement, social responsibility and justice, award-winning author, Martha Bloomfield passionately shares stories of marginalized people—immigrants, migrants and homeless. Multi-faceted stories reflect people’s personal and family memories of their life journeys—including struggles, leaving home, how and why they chose Michigan, challenges adapting to new homes, and dreams and hopes for future generations. She adapts her programs for all ages and backgrounds to inspire them to discover their own voices and those of others through words, personal historical artifacts, documents and photographs.
